Because 99.9% of everything you think and do is for yourself - and there isn't one.

Why do anything then?

Why do what I'm doing now? Why not!

I am not doing this to gain any popularity contest, write a book, or prove anything. I thought I was doing it for my self, but is there really one?

All I can say is anything that helps with personal soul growth is worth doing. I find inspiration in the the poetry of David Whyte, I think he is phenomenal and so is Mary Oliver, her poem "The Journey" has been of great help when I have found myself on the edge of indecisiveness. Both of them have a way of connecting a person to their soul and to nature.

Part of my journey is to further my connection to my soul and to the natural world as I move further from egocentric to soulcentric. The terms defined in a cultural sense are:

an egocentric society- materialistic, anthropocentric, competition based, class stratified, violence prone, and unsustainable

a soulcentric society - imaginative, ecocentric, cooperation based, just, compassionate, and sustainable

Can I inspire others to do the same? If each individual person can work toward becoming more soulcentric the world would start to be a better place. We all have a very unique mystical relationship with nature but most of us are blind to it. By stepping out of our comfort zone and cultivating a relationship with nature we will start to become more alive and see our roles on this planet very differently.

My friend Willow gave me "The Question" for my journey. The question was inspired by this quote: "Don't ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive." - Howard Thurman

The question will simply be "what makes you feel alive". I will video the responses and see what it is that makes people come alive in their life. The next step is to figure out how to do that every day to be alive and nurture your own soul.

I have also found inspiration in what Toni Childs is doing with Wrap The World In Beauty and while I am only able to do my part in a small way, it is artists like her who can spread a beautiful message in a big way. I think that is a wonderful gift, but no matter how big or small we all need to do our part.

I have been given some sacred healing water to take on this journey. This water has been infused with healing love and light energy by a group of females that have been doing this for 1 hour every week for many years. This is a powerful bottle of water! Drops of this water will be placed in areas along the Andes and into Chille to help with movement of the Earths Kundalini. This sacred water is filled with feminine heart energy to help balance the strong male energy that has done so much destruction to the planet.

My journey is sort of a continuation of a vision quest I went on earlier this year. Since I was 23 I have been on a journey of discovery. At 23 there were profound experiences which prompted me to take a leap into the unknown as I gave away all my possessions, sold my house for $1.00, left my friends behind and drove across several states to start college. I had an absolute knowing of my purpose at that time. Over the years my “knowing” and beliefs would wax and wane as I try on different ways of being such as Zen Buddhism. What I do know is that the inner journey is the most important and at times we need to leave all those things behind that keep reinforcing an identity of who we think we are or who others want us to be. The inner journey of discovery is easier when we remove the distractions and step out into the unknown.
